ASUS M50VM-AK014C

hello,

here is an quick ‘how-to…’ for installing xp at your m50vm.

but you need to check first :
1
- copy down all hardware id’s for reference (and save them not on your hdd – better to print it).
2
- go into bios and enable ide or compatible mode.

-go to asus.com and search up the vista 32bit drivers for m50vm. (download and save on disc = cd/dvd)
3.2
- go to asus.com and search up the xp 32bit drivers for v1sn. (download and save on disc = cd/dvd)
4.
- pop in 32bit xp home edition / professional and install.

...then continue and work :

1. download and install chipset driver (from disk or new from intel-dowloadsite)
2. atk driver and all utilities (i used xp drivers for v1sn from asus site) but drivers from the disk should work too
3. uaa and audio from realtek
4. vga from laptopvideo2go.com (blueray play doesn’t work with some, try couple)
...or download desktop vga driver from nvidia and use nvidia mobility modder tool to modify it. www.driverheaven.net/nvmodtool.php

1: download driver from the driver link
2: extract driver into a folder
3: download modded .inf
4: copy and paste .inf-file into the extracted driver folder before run setup.exe
5: run setup.exe


wireless driver for a1 - and b1 – model :
atheros ar928x wireless lan (use ‘update driver’-function from device-manager to install it):

should you have some exclamations still after installing all devices, then tell here the ven_id and which driver(s) you already tried to use.

I am locking for a driver for the dual multimediatouchpad. The drivers are working, i can´t activate the dual mode!
Any sugestions?

a ven_id is a vendor_id-number.

to get the ven_id just go here :

- go to the device-manager
- right-click at the selcted device
- select 'properties'

a new menu pop's up

- go to tab 'details'
- here u can select different things to display... you will select now 'hardware-ids'
- type the displayed queue here please.

a typically ven_id is f. expl. :

pci\ven_1002&dev_0592&subsys...

the bold printed part of the id i need always - the rest only when i am asking for ...

The ven_id, i posted i found in the devicemanager under the allready installed mise. But ivé got 3 basicsystemdevices my computer don´t know what are, and ven_id´look more like the one u posted!
